FAQ & troubleshooting

Do I need crypto experience to lend? No. Fiat lenders need no crypto setup — sign the agreement and fund from your bank.

Do I have to sell my crypto to borrow? No. You keep your collateral in your own vault; you only reserve it against the loan.

Which currencies and assets are supported? At launch: loans in CHF and USD (IBAN). We’re working on EUR, GBP, and EURe. Collateral: WETH, wstETH, WBTC, cbBTC.

Why is the Letter of Credit on my CHF loan larger than the loan? CHF loans are secured in EURC, not francs. The LoC is sized above principal plus interest by a buffer that depends on the loan term, so it still covers the debt if the franc strengthens. See The FX buffer.

Which wallets work? Any standard Ethereum wallet (e.g. MetaMask) or WalletConnect-compatible wallet.

I’m on the wrong network. The app detects your wallet’s network and shows a warning if it’s wrong, with a prompt to switch. Collateral operations happen on Ethereum mainnet.

Connecting my wallet — is that a transaction? No. Proving wallet ownership is a signature, not a transaction, so it costs no gas.

Who pays gas? You pay network gas for your own on-chain actions (approving an asset, depositing, reserving via the Letter of Credit, topping up). These are standard Ethereum transactions.

My transaction is pending / stuck. This is usually network congestion or a low gas fee. Wait for it to confirm, or use your wallet’s “speed up” option. Don’t resubmit the same action until the first clears.

A transaction failed. Common causes: insufficient gas, insufficient balance for the asset + gas, or a not-yet-confirmed approval. Check the error in your wallet and retry once any prior step has confirmed.

How long until I receive funds? IBAN: typically 1–2 days after the lender’s funds arrive.

When does my collateral come back? On full repayment, your Letter of Credit is released and unused collateral returns in kind. The LoC also expires automatically 5 days after maturity (loan maturity plus 5 days).
